About

I’m a member of the Canadian National Cross- Country Ski Team. I was first introduced to skiing when I joined my highschool team in hopes of attracting the attention of a boy I liked. In the end, I didn’t fancy the boy but I fell in love with the sport. I am originally from Caledon, Ontario, but I presently live in Canmore, Alberta where I train full time with the National Team. I am currently enrolled in a Human Sciences program which I’m taking in correspondance with the University of Athabasca.

As a skier, my strengths are skate distance events ranging anywhere from 10-30km in length. As a highschool racer in Ontario, you only skate ski. I learned to classic when I began to race provincially 5 years ago. I’ve been focusing quite hard on it ever since, and I think I can finally say that it isn’t a weakness anymore.

In my spare time, I love to ride horses. They’ve always been an integral part of my life. I remember saving every penny of my allowance money in hopes that I would be able to afford a month of riding lessons. I’ve never owned my own horse, my lifestyle doesn’t really permit it, but I’ve ridden, showed, and trained horses for other people to keep them in my life.

I love anything that involves the outdoors- hiking, sailing, tennis, running, cycling- you name it. My appreciation for being outside is definately from the way I was brought up. My parents own a 36ft CS (a sailboat) that my sister and I spent all summer on since we were just toddlers. We take yearly vacations on it where we island hop for weeks searching for beaches, swim holes, hiking grounds, and hot blueberry picking spots.
